Halesowen Day Nursery is a well established, family run, ‘home from home’ early years setting which cares for and educates babies and young children from 6 weeks up to school age. The children here thrive with the love, comfort, relationships and education that we happily provide.
We are registered with Ofsted, have strong partnerships with the local Early Years Team, good relationships with many local schools and community groups and have a keen interest in the Reggio Emilia Approach to early years care and education.
We are a very reflective nursery who are always moving forward in the best interests of the children. We have numerous working policies & procedures which are available to you upon request and can be accessed in the ‘parent’s’ section of our website.
HDN is led by a two Early Years Teachers, complemented by a strong, passionate team of lead practitioners and a group of fully qualified Early Years Educators. We are part of Dudley's EYT/EYP Network, Dudley's Go for Green Project and ECAT, all promoting and sharing excellent practice within the Borough.
We pride ourselves on providing a happy, safe, enjoyable and healthy environment for all children and their families where trusting relationships are built and maintained with each other. We advocate a "working together" ethos to ensure the safeguarding of children is paramount.
All children are treated equally and respected as individuals with voices and opinions that are valued and listened to. Children have opportunities to learn about a variety of cultures, celebrations, abilities and genders.
We are linked with 2 schools in The Gambia - Half Dye & Kanefine. The Nursery children and staff sponsor four young children to receive an education. We regularly send and receive letters and pictures from the children which give the children a deeper understanding of the project.
We place great emphasis on fostering positive Christian values and attitudes. HDN has strong links with a local church (Lakeside Church) who regularly visit with puppet shows and stories for the children.
Parents are seen and valued as the first educators of their children and we acknowledge the importance of including them in nursery life. We operate stay & play sessions, parent evenings, social & family events and charity fundraisers and a general open door policy promoting positive relationships and communications.
Enrolling your child - please feel free to browse the website, phone and ask questions and book a visit for you and your child to look around. An Enrolment Form & a £50.00 Commitment Fee will secure your place.
Settling in – Here at HDN we know and understand the value of a happy and well supported transition period. Once enrolled, we ask you to attend a welcome meeting where you can share with us all we need to know about you child before they start (SEN, care plans and IEP's can be instigated and implemented at this point if applicable).
We then offer a three stage settling in process free of charge. Firstly, there is an allocated time for you to come and pay with your child at nursery, allowing it to become a place where your child feels you are comfortable to and somewhere familiar that you have played together. Secondly, we offer a time for your child to play alone in their new playroom while you stay on site, and finally there is a longer session where you can leave your child at nursery for a trial session. This is also
supported by a welcome pack & visual routine storybook telling you and your child all you need to know about our wonderful nursery.
